Aurora Receives a Certificate for Performance Excellence
2009 U.S. Senate Productivity and Quality Award for Virginia
Receipients Announced
United States Senators Jim Webb and Mark Warner announced today the recipients of the United States
Senate Productivity and Quality Award for Virginia. The program was established in the early 1980s by the
United States Senate and is administered at the State level. For Virginia, this recognition is the
equivalent for states of recognition from the national Malcolm Baldrige Quality Award Program
administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce...
... Certificates for Commitment to Performance Excellence were
provided to Aurora Flight Sciences, Manassas, VA, the Department of Human Resources, Albemarle Co, VA,
and the School of Business, Marymount University, Arlington, VA.
In their role as Honorary Program Chairs, Senators Webb and Warner noted that “since Virginia SPQA’s founding,
hundreds of organizations have participated—analyzing their performance based on the Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence.
The benefits ultimately translate to a stronger Virginia. We are proud of this Program and those who have been recognized.”
Award recipients are formally recognized at the Virginia SPQA Annual Forum for Performance Excellence in Richmond (Midlothian) on October 7, 2009.
